Job description - Application Specialist

Description

The Application Specialist is mainly responsible for demonstrating products to potential end-users. Further, he/she is responsible for after-sales and helping to close sales deals, installation of the system and instruction of the users. The Application Specialist often installs the system at clients, and is responsible for the instruction of users as well as technical troubleshooting. This position is not responsible for sales targets, but assists the sales team to meet the company’s sales objectives. The Application Specialist generally reports to the Sales Manager.

Qualifications (Education)

A candidate for the position of Application Specialist requires a Bachelor Degree or higher in Life Science or Medical Technology, preferably with a technical focus. The person should have extensive experience, additional experience in a field position would be an advantage.

Tasks

    • Promote, demonstrate, and support products for sales targets of company
    • Plan and organize territory according to customer needs and sales
    • Maintain accurate and up to date account records
    • Administration i.e. maintain customer database of accounts, communicate on regular basis status of customer accounts and issues with Sales and Service Teams.
    • Remain current on new technologies and the medical device industry
    • Provide training for existing users of company products as well as technical troubleshooting
