Description
The Head of Data Management supervises and coordinates all aspects and manpower concerned with clinical data. He/she has the responsibility to manage, supervise, and coordinate the data managers and can assist in the standardisation of data management procedures.
Qualifications
A Head Data Manager requires bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and requires extensive experience in the field or in a related area. A candidate for this function should have experience in using relational databases and people management experience. Professional use of the English language; both written and verbal.

Tasks
- Develop database, programming, update entry screens, design of research forms in line with regulatory and GCP requirements
- Develop computer generated programs to check data for accuracy and consistency, develop and run ad-hoc queries
- Supervise, coach, train Data Managers
- Ensure timely entry and documentation of clinical data
- Develop standards for the data management process
- Define database validation procedures
- Research and propose initiatives for improving efficiency
- Review and validate clinical data
- Track project progress and prioritize with respect to predetermined timelines
