Job description - Head Statistics

Description

In the clinical research field, the position of Head Statistics provides a contribution, not only in the analysis and interpretation of data, but also in managing other statisticians and providing the line of communication to all various interested partners.

Qualifications

A candidate for Head Statistics should possess a BA/BS in statistics, or in a related subject with a high statistical content whereby further qualification in Medical Statistics is an advantage. The candidate must have the ability to apply statistical methodology to well-formulated problems in the clinical research field. A candidate for the position of Head Statistics should have extensive experience in a relevant field and experience in people management. Professional use of the English language; both written and verbal.

Tasks

    •  Analyse and interpret data for clinical trials
    • Compiles reports, charts, and tables based on established statistical methods
    • Prepares analysis plans and writes detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures
    • Communicates with clients regarding statistical analysis issues
    • Interprets analyses and writes statistical sections of study reports
    • Perform meta-analyses by pooling data from several studies
    • Develop project analysis plan, including computer-generated table specifications, statistical analysis plan, and research report format
    • Verify statistical programs, statistical results, and data sets used in statistical section of technical documents
    • Co-operate in further development of internal guidelines and SOPs
    • Update knowledge in statistical concepts, methods, and techniques
    • Maintain state of the art statistical applications in clinical research
    • Responsible for data processing for accurate relocation, formatting, generating and transmitting required data
