Description
Medical Information Managers often work within the commercial division of pharmaceutical companies where they have the responsibility to provide balanced, evaluated information and advice on the clinical use of medicines to research professionals and patients. The MIM provides communication with the clinical department of the sponsor and provides leadership and management to the medical information department. The MIM can also be responsible for checking advertising and promotional material, as well as having a role in monitoring drug safety through reporting adverse reactions to company products to the regulatory authorities.
Qualifications
Qualifications for a Medical Information Officer are usually a PhD in (bio)medicine, pharmacology, physiology or biochemistry or pharmacy (with registration).

- Manage, support and supervise the Medical Information department

- Answer medical and pharmaceutical questions from internal and external parties
- Active support of various department by means of advice and information via relevant sources
- Staying up to date with medical and pharmaceutical information
- Create and maintain internal and external advice system through an optimal information distribution and support
