Personal career advice

Presentation of your CV

  • Set out your skills and competences clearly and logically, so that your advantages stand out
  • Use quality plain white printing paper, a basic font type and print in black ink
  • Use bullet points rather than wordy sentences
  • Do not split an entry under one heading over two pages
  • Borders, italics, and photographs of yourself are not necessary
  • Ensure there are no mistakes in spelling or punctuation, and that the content makes sense
  • Explain breaks in your studies or career and be aware that current salary details should not be included
  • Ask someone else to read your CV for clarity and mistakes.
